Drivers warned A590 roadworks may cause delays

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A590, from 8pm August 16 to 6am October 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Greenodd Roundabout, traffic signals for Speed limit signage and average speed camera installation.

• A590, from 8am September 14 to 6am November 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Meathop, Lane closure and carriageway closures.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A590, from 9.30am September 26 to 3.30pm October 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Elliscales Roundabout to High and Low Newton Bypass, Lane one closures and traffic signals for Wildflower cut and collect at all sites.

• A590, from 6pm September 28 to 5.30am September 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 westbound and eastbound, Ulverston[1] to Newland, traffic signals for BT works.

• A590, from 8pm September 28 to 6am September 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Lindal In Furness, traffic signals for inspections.

• A590, from 8pm October 3 to 6am October 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Brettargh Holt Roundabout to Meathop Roundabout, traffic signals for Trial hole works.

• A590, from 10pm October 4 to 6am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Brettargh Holt to junction 36, Lane closures for SU works (Network Rail).

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
