Drugs, firearm found in car: Fairview Park Police Blotter

On Aug. 28 at 3:47 p.m. a resident reported his unlocked car had been entered overnight and some personal belongings were missing. After an investigation, a subject was identified and an arrest warrant was obtained for a 56- year-old East Cleveland man.

Drugs, Brookpark Road

On Aug. 31 at 3:17 p.m. an officer stopped a driver for a traffic violation. Probable cause was found to search the car and a substance, believed to be narcotics, was seized and a loaded firearm was found inside the car. Drug trafficking charges are pending laboratory test results for a passenger, a 35-year-old Cleveland man, who was released on the scene. The driver, a 24-year-old Cleveland woman, was arrested after she was found to be a convicted felon in possession of a loaded firearm and turned over to Macedonia Police Department for an outstanding warrant. Charges for having a weapon under disability and failure to secure a dangerous ordinance were sent to the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury.

Drunk driving, West 210th Street

On Aug. 31 at 6:35 p.m. officers responded to a car crash near the Westgate entrance. The driver of one of the cars, a 46-year-old Avon Lake man, showed signs of alcohol impairment and was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol after he was unable to complete field sobriety tests. A loaded firearm was also found in his possession. He was arrested.
