Ford Focus driver denies causing fatal crash on A415

Courtney Goodwin-Dilberto, 22, spoke only to confirm her name and her not guilty pleas as she stood in the dock of courtroom one at Oxford[1] Crown Court on Thursday (September 28).

Prosecutors say she was behind the wheel of a 2011-plate Ford Focus on the A415 on April 28 last year when she caused the death of motorcyclist Benjamin Ireson.

The 26-year-old was from Longworth, near Kingston Bagpuize.

At the time of the crash, police said a Ford Focus, Yamaha motorcycle and DAF box van were involved in the collision at the junction of Frax Close and Faringdon Road.

Goodwin-Dilberto, of Aldiss Drive, Kingston Bagpuize, pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.

She was bailed to return to court on September 30 next year for the trial.

The case is expected to last around a week.

The judge, Recorder Rachel Drake, fixed a pre-trial review hearing to take place in March.

Christopher Pembridge appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service.

The defendant was represented by Alistair Grainger.
