Man accused of killing man, woman in downtown Nashua, NH parking lot
A man accused of fatally shooting a man and woman in a parking lot in downtown Nashua, New Hampshire late Friday has been arrested, according to authorities.
Victor Rivera, 47, of Nashua was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly killing the man and woman, who have yet to be publicly identified. They were found dead in a parking lot on Maple Street, New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella and Nashua Police Chief Kevin Rourke said in a statement.
Nashua police responded to calls reporting gunshots in the area of the Maple Street parking lot around 10:30 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived, they found the man and woman dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, according to the statement.
Authorities said Rivera was arrested for knowingly causing the deaths of the man and woman by shooting them and, alternatively, for recklessly causing the deaths of the two victims under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life. He is expected to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court on Monday, the statement said.
Autopsies were scheduled for the man and woman at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord at 9 a.m. Saturday, according to the statement.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation,” the statement said. “More information will be released as it becomes available.”
“The identities of the victims are not expected to be released until after family members have been notified, and the completion of the autopsies,” the attorney general and police chief added.
