Man and teenage girl killed in crash that left two boys injured
A young girl and a man were killed in an early-hours crash on a Midlands road. The smash also saw two injured teenage boys rushed to hospital.
Emergency services were called to the junction of the B4373 and A442 in Trench, Telford[1], at 2.14am on Tuesday, September 5. Medics said nothing could be done to save the man and teenage girl – the driver and passenger of the car – and they were confirmed dead at the scene.
Two young passengers were assessed by ambulance crews, one was seriously injured and required advanced trauma care before being taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The other was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival we found a man and a teenage girl who were the driver of and a passenger in the car. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save them and they were confirmed deceased at the scene.
“Two teenage boys who were passengers in the car were assessed by ambulance staff. The first had sustained serious injuries. He received advanced trauma care from ambulance staff and was conveyed to Birmingham Childrens Hospital for further treatment.
“The second had sustained injuries not believed to be serious. He received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene. He was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land ambulance.”
Medics also assessed a man who was a passer-by. However he was uninjured and received self care advice before being discharged at the scene.
