Man claims unknown driver intentionally and repeatedly rammed his car: Lyndhurst Police Blotter
LYNDHURST, Ohio
Criminal damaging: Richmond Road
At 4:10 p.m. Aug. 28, police stopped a damaged car on Richmond Road near the entrance to Legacy Village.
The car’s driver, a Cleveland man, 19, told officers that another driver had intentionally rammed into his car several times, then drove away. He said he does not know the driver.
The incident is under investigation.
Drug abuse: Wellington Road
At 10:30 p.m. Sept. 2, an officer stopped a car that displayed a license plate that could not be found in the state’s system.
It was then discovered that the driver, a Cleveland man, 19, was in possession of marijuana. Police cited the man for marijuana possession and driving with fictitious plates.
OVI: Ridgebury Boulevard
At 5:30 p.m. Sept. 1, officers investigated a two-car crash at Ridgebury Boulevard and Irene Road and learned that one of the drivers, a Euclid woman, 44, was intoxicated.
The woman failed field sobriety tests and was found to have a blood-alcohol content of .174, above the state minimum for drunk driving of .08.
Police arrested the woman for OVI.
OVI: Mayfield Road
At 1:50 a.m. Sept. 2, a man was found passed out at the steering wheel of his car, stopped at the traffic signal at Mayfield and Richmond roads.
The Cleveland Heights man, 41, was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested for OVI. He refused to submit to a breath test.
Domestic violence: Learidge Road
At 1:50 a.m. Sept. 2, a Lyndhurst woman, 46, reported that her husband, 45, had slapped her across the face, causing her to bleed. The man had left the scene before police arrived.
A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest. He is expected to turn himself in this week on a charge of domestic violence.
Theft: Mayfield Road
At 2:45 p.m. Aug. 28, an employee of the BP of Lyndhurst gas station, 5615 Mayfield Road, reported that two men had stolen items as they solicited people in the store.
The men then left, walking west on Mayfield Road.
Police located the men, 50 and 27, of Cleveland, and learned that both were wanted on Shaker Heights police warrants. The SHPD, however, was unable to pick them up.
BP did not wish to pursue charges and the men were released.
