Man crashes car into tree: Highland Heights Police Blotter

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio

Crash: Lander Road

A vehicle crashed into a tree on a tree lawn in the 600 block around 1 a.m. Sept. 2.

Officers responded to the crash after receiving multiple 911 calls.

The driver, a 45-year-old Cleveland man, was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The incident is under investigation with possible charges pending medical results.

Disturbance: Wilson Mills Road

A Chipotle manager reported Sept. 2 that an employee was fired after an argument over food safety but refused to leave the business.

The man had left before officers arrived, but he was located walking in the area and advised that management wanted him banned from the business.

Welfare check: Wilson Mills Road

A woman was seen slumped over the wheel of her vehicle in the True North Shell parking lot Sept. 4.

Officers and paramedics were able to wake her, but she refused to be taken to the hospital.

The woman, 36, did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Harassing communication: Eastlawn Drive

A resident, working as a claim’s adjustor, said Sept. 5 that a California man was harassing her through email and social media.

The man was unhappy with the payout for a property damage insurance claim and told her that he would make her life miserable until he received the payout he was expecting to receive.

Officers tried unsuccessfully to contact the man.

Fraud: Highland Road

A resident arrived at the station Sept. 5 to report that an unknown person fraudulently opened an AT&T account in his name and did not make payments.

He learned of the fraud when he received a letter in the mail from a debt collector.

The incident was documented.

Juvenile complaints: Hawthorne Drive

A man said reported at 8:15 p.m. Sept. 3 that there were children playing catch on the street’s cul-de-sac and they did not belong there.

He said their football hit his vehicle and he questioned the curfew laws.

Officers checked the area and found the children were no longer there. The man was advised and told that curfew for children starts at 11 p.m.

Disturbance: Club Drive

A complaint of loud music coming from a concert at the StoneWater country club was received Sept. 1.

Officers did not feel the volume was excessive at the facility and felt it could barely be heard near the home of the caller.
