Man injured after car flips in A4232 rush hour crash
Police were called to reports of a serious Road Traffic Incident on the A4232 at 8.15am today (Wednesday, September 20).
A man suffered minor injuries which were not described as life-threatening or life-changing after his car collided with the central reservation.
An ambulance and crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene to assist with the incident.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “At 8:15am today emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the A4232 Southbound.
“The collision involved one car whereby it collided with the central reservation. One man has suffered injuries that were not described as life-threatening or life-changing.”
A spokesperson from South Wales Fire and Rescue Services said: “At approximately 8:14 am on Wednesday 20 September 2023, we received reports of a road traffic collision on the A4232 Northbound Link Road, Culverhouse to M4 Junction 33.
“Crews from Ely and Whitchurch Fire and Rescue Station attended the scene, alongside emergency services colleagues.
“A stop message was received at approximately 8:54am.”
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called today (20 September) at 8:11 am to reports of a road traffic collision on the A4232 Culverhouse Cross, Cardiff.
“We sent one emergency ambulance and one advanced paramedic practitioner to the scene, where we were subsequently stood down.”
Two lanes were closed on the A4232, with motorists urged to avoid the area or find an alternate route as emergency services worked to clear the incident.
Roads were re-opened an hour after the collision.
