Man threatened with gun after complaining about store employee: South Euclid Police Blotter

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio

Having weapon under disability: Mayfield Road

Officers responded to Giant Eagle Aug. 26 after an off-duty officer reported that a man was being detained after threatening another man with a gun.

It was learned that the victim had requested help at a self-checkout register and then complained to management about the employee that helped him due to her poor attitude. That woman called her boyfriend to the location, and he threatened the man with gun in the parking lot and made him apologize to her.

The 37-year-old resident of Princeton Boulevard was arrested for aggravated menacing and having a weapon under disability after being found in possession of a loaded gun. He had several past felony convictions for drug and gun related offenses.

Assault: South Belvoir Boulevard

A woman said Aug. 29 that during a road rage incident near Elmwood Road, a partially filled pop can was thrown into her car and struck her on the shoulder.

The incident is under investigation.

Overdose: Dill Road

A man, 34, was found dead at a home in the 1400-block Aug. 29.

An investigation revealed that he had overdosed on narcotics.

Drug evidence was collected, and the body was turned over to the medical examiner’s office.

Impaired driving: South Belvoir Boulevard

A Cleveland Heights man, 65, was arrested for OVI after his vehicle was found crashed into a utility pole at Neville Road at 12:23 a.m. Aug. 27.

He refused to take sobriety tests and admitted to drinking before the accident.

Recovered stolen vehicle: Neville Road

A caller reported a possibly disabled vehicle that had been parked in the roadway all day Aug. 26.

Officers located it and learned it had been stolen out of Cleveland Heights earlier that day.

Cleveland Heights police responded and had the car towed.

Assault: Warrensville Center Road

A man reported Aug. 26 that he was assaulted by a man and woman after a crash at the Walmart entrance.

The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, but the incident is being investigated.

Domestic violence: Prasse Road

A man, 26, was arrested for domestic violence Aug. 26 after his live-in girlfriend reported that he had held her in a headlock.

Property damage: Warrensville Center Road

An officer discovered a damaged postal box in the 1800 block Aug. 26 and concluded that it had been struck by a vehicle that knocked it from its concrete pad.

It was returned to the station for safekeeping and the postal service was advised of the incident.

Theft: Warrensville Center Road

A Maple Heights woman, 38, was cited for theft at Walmart Aug. 26 after she was seen changing price tags on items and failing to scan most of her merchandise at the self-checkout.

She failed to pay for a total of $189 worth of merchandise.
