Pedestrian fatally struck by car in Perry County

A 59-year-old man from Liverpool in Perry County was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross routes 11/15 in Liverpool Township Saturday afternoon, state police said.

The man was identified as Robert C. Reich. The crash occurred at 3:53 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Routes 11/15 in the area of area of 100 Old Trail Road, state police said.

State police said Reich successfully crossed the southbound lanes of the road, but was struck by a Ford F550 as he tried to cross the northbound lane. The Ford continued about 1,000 feet before coming to a stop. Police said Reich died immediately on the scene.

The road was closed for several hours and reopened at 6:33 p.m.
