Person rushed to hospital after crash closes busy Yeovil road

A person has been taken to hospital after a crash on a road near Yeovil. Emergency services were called to the A359 Mudford Road at aproximately 6.30am to reports of a single vehicle crash.

The road has been closed in both directions since early this morning (September 6), with rush hour traffic moving slowly between Hillview and the Pen Mill Trading Estate turn off. A person has been taken to hospital with injuries which are not though to be life threatening or life changing.

Mudford Road remains closed while debris from the collision is cleared, Avon and Somerset Police has said. Traffic is currently being affected between Mudford and Yeovil, according to reports.

Avon and Somerset Police said in a statement: “Officers were called to the A359, in Mudford, near Yeovil, at around 6.30am today (Wednesday 6 September) following a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision.

“One person has been taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life changing.

“The road is closed while debris is cleared.”
