Two people have been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on a County Durham road this morning.

Durham[1] Police have confirmed they attended reports of a crash on the A689 near Wolsingham[2] at around 7.30am today (September 18).

They said it involved a Volkswagen Amarok, Mercedes Sprinter van and Land Rover Freelander.

They also confirmed two people had been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A Durham Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended reports of a collision on the A689 near Wolsingham at around 7.30am today (September 18).

“The collision involved a Volkswagen Amarok, Mercedes Sprinter van and Land Rover Freelander.

“Two of the drivers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.”

This comes after traffic was slowed following reports of an incident earlier this morning on the A689 at Stanhope Road in Wolsingham.

The Northern Echo has contacted North East Ambulance Service for more information on the incident.
