"A near-miss for this vehicle this morning, only a miss thanks to the swift reaction of the HGV driver."

They added it was "not worth lives".

The driver was issued with a traffic offence report and reported to court.

The video uploaded by Wiltshire Specialist Operations shows the Beetle swerving over to the wrong side of the road, and narrowly avoiding a collision with the lorry before it swerves back.

The car then pulls over into a layby.
