Woman, 75, remains critical as police make new appeal over road accident

A 75-year-old pedestrian injured in a road accident in Gwynedd[1] remains critical in hospital. The update came as police made a fresh appeal for information about the incident in Caernarfon[2].

The woman sustained life-threatening injuries following the collision with a Citroen van on the A4086 Llanberis Road in Caernarfon on Friday at 9.15pm. The van was travelling towards the general direction of Cibyn Industrial Estate.

The casualty was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor[3] by ambulance. But she has since been transferred to Royal Stoke University Hospital.

North Wales Police[5] thanked one witness who has come forward and urged others who have mobile phone footage not to share it on social media. They urged anyone with relevant information to contact the force directly instead.

The spokesman said on the NWP Roads Policing Unit Facebook[6] page added: “The 75-year-old woman remains in a critical condition in hospital.” Any other witnesses or anybody with information that could assist with the investigation is asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit, either via the website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 23000829701.
