A361 crash: Police appeal launched as emergency services remain at scene

Police are appealing for information following a crash on the A361 overnight. The busy road between Taunton[1] and Street[2] has been closed in both directions from Oliver’s Road to Moor Road, with drivers asked to take an alternate route.

Emergency services were called to the road following reports of a single-vehicle crash, which is believed to have taken place in the early hours of the morning. Avon and Somerset Police[3] has asked anyone who was in the area between 12am and 3am today (October 5) and saw anything to please get in contact.

Traffic[4] monitoring system Inrix reports: “A361 in both directions closed due to accident from Oliver’s Road (Middlezoy) to Moor Road (Ashcott). Traffic is coping well.”

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called to a report of a single-vehicle collision on the A361 this morning (Thursday, October 5). Emergency services are on the scene and the road has been closed between the junctions of Moor Road and Oliver’s Road.

“We are asking motorists to seek an alternative route. If you were driving through the area between midnight and 3am today and have dashcam footage or saw anything, please contact 101 and quote reference 5223242451.”
