A47 crash: Photo shows crash between bus and van in Lowestoft after air ambulance called

Part of the A47 in Suffolk was closed yesterday (Saturday, October 28) after a crash between a bus and a van. Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to Yarmouth Road in Lowestoft at around 2.48pm on Saturday following a crash. The air ambulance also attended the incident.

Fire crews from Lowestoft North and Lowestoft South worked at the scene. A spokesperson for Lowestoft North Fire Station said: "A small number of casualties were treated at the scene with one requiring extrication." A 'stop' message was received at 4.27pm, with crews leaving the scene shortly after. According to National Highways East, the road had reopened by early evening.
