‘Attempted theft’ from lay-by lorry on A34 in Oxfordshire
The arrests came as Thames Valley Police’s Roads Policing officers carried out patrols in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, October 19). Officers spotted a “suspicious vehicle” in a lay-by near parked lorries on the A34 at Abingdon[1]. They found four males with equipment, which officers believed was being used to try and steal from an HGV.
They arrested the suspects for ‘going equipped’ in relation to the ‘attempted theft’.
The roads policing unit patrols roads in the Thames Valley to keep motorists safe and traffic flowing, and to identify and disrupt any criminals attempting to commit crime.
