Beets spill on road in Tuscola County crash that injured 2
TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI - Two drivers were injured Friday, Oct.
27 after a pickup truck and a beet hauler collided.
The Tuscola County Sheriff's Office responded around 10:48 a.m. to the crash on M-81 at Colwood Road, according to an Oct.
30 news release.
A commercial pickup truck, driven by a 28-year-old Vassar man, was going west on M-81 and starting to turn north onto Colwood Road, police said.
A beet hauler traveling behind the pickup seemed to be unable to stop in time to avoid a collision.
The driver of the beet truck, a 58-year-old Harbor Beach man, tried to avoid the crash by going around the pickup.
But the pickup was already making a turn and struck the side of the beet truck causing it to roll on its side.
Beets then spilled onto the roadway.
Both the driver of the beet truck and the pickup truck were injured and transported to local hospitals.
