Open door: SOM Center Road

A resident reported that their neighbors were out of the country and could not be reached immediately by phone after they had left their garage door open on the night of Oct.

16 -- with a Porsche and an Audi parked inside. Police left a message for the homeowner and secured the garage within 30 minutes, with no signs of intrusion.

Personal welfare, squad call, attempt to locate: South Woodland Road

Dispatchers received multiple calls about a barefoot man in shorts walking in the roadway near the Metroparks Polo Field around 8:45 p.m. Oct.

21, gesturing with his hand like he was hitchhiking. One driver reported almost hitting him near Chagrin River Road.

Radio logs were sketchy but it appeared first responders located someone near the Polo Field entrance just before 9 p.m. who was possibly transported to Hillcrest Hospital with minor cuts.

But police could not locate a car possibly involved in a related accident and sent out a bulletin to surrounding departments around 4:30 a.m. Oct.

22 that they were still looking for a blue 2014 Jeep Patriot from the earlier time frame.

Then just after 1 a.m. Oct.

23, patrol officers reported finding a car at the top of Hogsback Hill that was possibly connected to the earlier accident, with no further details and the investigation continuing.

Traffic stop, mutual aid requested: Addison Lane

Police requested a K-9 unit for a consent search of a car stopped around 10:15 p.m. Oct.

21 but apparently found no contraband, citing the driver, 20, only for having no operator's license. Although he had an active warrant out of Parma, police there asked that he be advised and released due to being short-staffed at the time.

Car crash (deer): Chagrin Boulevard

Responding to a report of a Mercedes-Benz hitting a deer at 1:45 p.m. Oct.

17, police found the driver walking around and refusing an ambulance.

With a tow truck en route, the car was moved out of traffic to North Strawberry Lane around 2:15 p.m.
