Cyclist left with serious injuries after collision with van on A18

A cyclist has been left with serious injuries after a collision with a white van on the A18. Humberside Police[1] were called to reports of a crash on the main road towards Wrawby between a white Mercedes Sprinter van and a cyclist. They collided near to Gallows Farm with the cyclist coming to rest in a ditch.

The incident happened at 10.14pm on Sunday, 29 October, with officers now asking for anyone with information to come forward. It said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision on Sunday 29 October on A18 towards Wrawby. “At around 10.14pm, officers were called to reports that a white Mercedes Sprinter van and a cyclist were in collision on A18 towards Wrawby near to Gallows Farm.

Emergency services attended and the cyclist was taken to hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries. “Anyone who witnessed this incident or has dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 601 of 29 October.” Humberside Fire and Rescue[2] added: “Road Traffic Collision involving car and cyclist. “Fire service personnel assisted paramedics in manually extricating cyclist out of ditch and into awaiting ambulance.

Salvage sheet and reciprocating saw in use.

Incident left with paramedics and Police.”
