Driver caught using a leaf to cover number plates after being stopped by police for speeding
A DRIVER has been nicked by the cops for using a leaf to conceal their number plate after they were stopped for speeding.
It’s reported the motorist, who has not been identified, used double-sided sticky tape to attach leaves to the front and rear licence plates.

The case was highlighted in a post on X, formerly Twitter, by Surrey RoadSafe, a joint partnership between the Surrey Police and the local news outlet SurreyNews[1].
The post said: “There are times when camouflage is needed & can look good.
“Leaves attached to your number plate with double-sided tape is neither.
“Vehicle stopped A3, Guildford[2] as still visible to #VanguardRST while driving in excess of the speed limit.
“FPN [fixed penalty notice[3]] for leaves & TOR [traffic offence report] for speed issued.”
Surrey Police said a Toyota Corolla was stopped for speeding on October 3 in the early afternoon.
The driver was not arrested but received two fixed penalty notices – one for each number plate – £100 each – and also a traffic offence report for speeding.
Elsewhere, an OAP couple were so sick of cars speeding[4] on their street that they took matters into their own hands.
