Driver killed on A38 Sutton Coldfield Bypass after BMW and tanker lorry crash
Sutton Bypass A 28-year-old man has died following a crash[1] in Sutton Coldfield last night (October 27). Police were called to A38 Sutton Coldfield Bypass shortly after 10.30pm to a collision involving a tanker lorry and a black BMW 140i car.
The driver of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the BMW, a 19-year-old man, was taken to hospital[2] with injuries not believed to be life threatening. The driver of the lorry is assisting with enquiries, West Midlands Police[3] said.
Road closures in the area have now been lifted.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the man who has died and we have a family liaison officer in place to support them.
