Four road closures on the A590 in the next fortnight

One of the closures is expected to cause delays of up to 30 minutes. The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week: o A590, from 8am September 14 to 5pm November 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Meathop, Lane closure and carriageway closures.

o A590, from 8pm August 16 to 5am December 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Greenodd Roundabout, traffic signals for Speed limit signage and average speed camera installation. o A590, from 8pm October 9 2023 to 6am January 25 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Park Road Roundabout, four-way traffic signals for lighting upgrade works. One more closure will begin over the next two weeks:

o A590, from 9pm November 6 to 6am December 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 westbound, Ulverston[1] to Swarthmoor, traffic signals and Lane closure for Reconstruction of retaining wall.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
