M2 crash shuts motorway between Faversham and Sittingbourne

A multi-vehicle crash has shut the M2 and sparked a large emergency response tonight.

Three cars are believed to have been involved in the collision on the Londonbound side between Faversham^[1] and Sittingbourne^[2].

The M2 has been shut off between Faversham and Sittingbourne following a multi-vehicle crash

The road is currently shut off between Junction 6 for the A251 and Junction 5 for the A249, with police and ambulance crews at the scene.

Onlookers have reported a large amount of debris on the carriageway, with a recovery truck arriving shortly after 10.30pm.

Police have been asked for more details.
