M3 traffic recap after crash involving lorry and car near Bagshot

A crash involving a lorry and a car on the M3 northbound led to around four miles of congestion earlier today (October 22) near Junction 3 for Bagshot,[1] back towards Camberley[2]. Traffic was temporarily held because of the collision and two lanes remained closed for some time. Emergency services including police and two fire engines were seen at the scene.

The crash was first reported shortly after 10am and congestion was reported by National Highways at the J3 exit slip road. Drivers were warned of delays. Travel monitoring service Inrix said at the time: “Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident, a car and a lorry involved on M3 northbound from J3 A322 (Lightwater / Bagshot) to J2 M25 J12.

Traffic was briefly held, causing delays. Lanes three and four (of four) remain closed.”

The collision was cleared and all lanes reopened at around 11.30am.
