Man allegedly drove lorry into police car before fleeing scene of incident

A man has been charged with a string of offences after a lorry allegedly rammed a police car. The driver of the lorry reportedly fled the scene in Scunthorpe on Wednesday. Bailey Richardson, 20, of Oxford Street, Doncaster, is accused of failing to stop for officers on Lakeside Parkway before he allegedly rammed a police car.

He has been charged with four counts of assault[1] on an emergency worker, two counts of criminal damage, two counts of failing to stop, two counts of failing to report an accident, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and a licence and careless driving. He was remanded in custody to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court on Thursday, 19 October and has now been remanded until an appearance at Grimsby Crown Court. It is reported that he first failed to stop for officers on Mortal Ash Hill, A18, after a road traffic accident before driving dangerously in the nearby Morrisons car park and causing damage to a police vehicle.

Humberside Police[2] said: "A man has been charged with 15 offences following a road traffic collision in Scunthorpe[3]. "Bailey Richardson, 20, of Oxford Street, Doncaster, has been charged with four counts of assault on an emergency worker, two counts of criminal damage, two counts of failing to stop, two counts of failing to report an accident, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and careless driving. "It is reported that a lorry failed to stop for officers on Lakeside Parkway before the lorry is believed to have rammed the police vehicle, causing damage.

The driver is thought to have fled the scene before officers located him nearby."
