A MAN was taken to hospital after a car crashed and ended up on its roof in Lower Gornal.

The crash, which saw a car hit a stationary pick-up truck and flip over, happened on Summer Lane at 7.22am this morning (Tuesday October 3).

Firefighters freed the driver – he was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Russells Hall hospital.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7.22am to a road traffic collision involving a car and a stationary car on Summer Lane, Dudley.

“One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended.

“We found a man who was the driver of the car. He was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained injuries not believed to be life threatening.

“He received treatment at the scene and was conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment.”

Firefighters from Dudley and Brierley Hill as well as police went to the crash.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said the crash involved a car and a pick-up.
