Pictures from scene of hit-and-run Plumstead crash as woman fights for her life
Pictures from the scene of a hit-and-run crash in Plumstead show a major emergency services presence. The incident between a motorbike and a pedestrian happened in Maxey Road shortly after 10pm yesterday (October 19). Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a woman injured.

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital where she remains in a life threatening condition. The rider of the motorbike left the scene on foot before the arrival of police. No arrests have been made following the incident.

Pictures from the scene show a major police presence following the crash. Shocked onlookers can also be seen at the scene of the crash as police respond. Maxey Road was closed as the incident was dealt with but it has since reopened.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called by the London Ambulance Service shortly after 22:00hrs on Thursday, 19 October to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and a pedestrian at Maxey Road, SE18. "Emergency services attended. "The pedestrian, a 23-year-old woman, was taken to hospital by LAS where she remains in a life threatening condition.
"Her next of kin are aware. "The rider of the motorbike left the scene on foot prior to police arrival. "There were no arrests.
"Road closures and diversions remain in place while enquiries continue. "Anyone who witnessed this incident or has footage should call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0208 285 1574 quoting CAD 7607/9NOV. "You can also report information via 101 or Tweet @MetCC.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 10.04pm yesterday (19 October) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian at the junction between the A206 and Maxey Road, SE18. "We sent multiple resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and members of our tactical response unit.
"Our first medics arrived in less than two minutes.
"We treated a patient at the scene for a severe head injury before taking them to a major trauma centre."
