Switch Island closures after major crash
Police have closed multiple roads after a crash at Switch Island. Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the crash at Switch Island in Aintree[1] shortly before 7.30pm on Saturday, October 21. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service[2] said on arrival they found the crash involved a car and a van which were both on four wheels. One passenger had to be self-extracted from their vehicle under the supervision of North West Ambulance Service.
Two people were taken to hospital by NWAS. The nature of any injuries is yet to be confirmed.
Merseyside Police said road closures are in place at Switch Island near to the M57 and on Broom’s Cross Road.
People are being asked to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
