11-mile traffic diversion near Ely as A142 overnight closures begin
Overnight road closures on a busy A-road in Cambridgeshire are set to see drivers face an 11-mile diversion. The A142 Stuntney Causeway in Ely[1] will be shut to traffic overnight between Seekings Way and Barway Road for two nights – with work beginning on Monday, November 27. The road is expected to close at 8pm on the nights the closures are in place.
It will then reopen by 6am the following day. A Cambridgeshire[2] County Council spokesperson said: “A142 Stuntney Causeway, Ely (between Seekings Way and Barway Road) will be closed both ways to all motor vehicles between the 27th – 29th November between the hours of 8pm and 6am nightly for works.”
