2 arrested after mail stolen from community mailbox in Clovis

CLOVIS, Calif. (FOX26) — Two people have been arrested after mail was stolen from a community mailbox Thursday morning in Clovis. According to the Clovis Police Department, the mail was stolen around 4:00 a.m. from a mailbox in a neighborhood near Bullard and Temperance Avenues. The suspects then drove to another neighborhood near Shaw and Armstrong Avenues, where they ditched a Honda Ridgeline pickup truck with mail inside.

The suspects then ran into a field and laid on the ground trying to hide. Officers were able to use a drone to find the suspects and they were arrested. One suspect has several priors for mail theft.

The theft is still being investigated.
