3,000 ‘overseas’ pills which could ‘pose health risk’ found in Redcar police raid
Three thousand tablets which could pose a “risk to health” have been unearthed during a police raid in Redcar[1]. Cleveland Police[2] officers searched an address in the town’s Eggleston Road on Tuesday morning and found the stash of Zopiclone tablets, which are believed to have been imported from overseas. Officers say the drug, a type of sleeping pill, could include ingredients which pose a health risk to anyone taking them.
Two men, aged 48 and 58, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class C drug and questioned by detectives.

Redcar NPT Sergeant Martyn Weston said: “This morning’s activity was as a result of information from the community and I’d like to thank them for their assistance and support. We will always investigate reports of drug dealing and welcome the public’s help with this. You can report online on the Cleveland Police website, or by phoning 101.
“If you don’t want to speak to police you can pass information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org[3] or by phoning them on 0800 555 111.”
