4-vehicle crash involving semi closes westbound I-96 lanes
KENT COUNTY, MI - The westbound lanes of I-96 were closed Wednesday afternoon, Nov.
1 after four-vehicle crash near Lowell.
Initial reports indicate a semi-truck crashed into three vehicles that were slowing for a construction zone by Alden Nash Avenue, according to Michigan State Police[1].
No one was injured.
The crash shut down the westbound lanes around 2:26 p.m., according to the Michigan Department of Transportation, but traffic has been getting through on the shoulder.
Police advise drivers find an alternative route while cleanup continues.
The eastbound lanes of I-96 are also down due one lane through Thursday, Nov.
2 due to construction from Whitneyville Avenue to the Ionia County line.
The crash remains under investigation.
