£60,000 drugs haul seized at home in quiet north Hull street
Police seized cannabis plants worth around GBP62,000 after raiding a property in a street full of family homes. Officers found 124 plants, along with drugs paraphernalia and a high-value car at the property in Fairfax Avenue, off Bricknell Avenue, north Hull. A man was arrested at the scene.
Kudusi Kastrati, 41, was later charged[1] with being concerned in the production of cannabis and abstracting electricity without authority. He was due to appear before magistrates today. The raid was carried out as part of Operation Shield, an ongoing crackdown on crime around the Humber region.
In a statement, Humberside Police said: “A 41-year-old man has been charged after officers from Operation Shield executed a misuse of drugs act warrant a property on Fairfax Street in Hull yesterday (Wednesday). “Upon entering the premises, it is reported officers discovered a suspected cannabis grow of approximately 124 plants, worth an estimated GBP62,000, along with drugs paraphernalia, a high-value car, and a man was arrested at the scene. Kudusi Kastrati, of Fairfax Avenue, Hull, has been charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis and abstracting electricity without authority.
He was remanded into custody to appear at Hull Magistrates Court this morning.
