A16 crash: Woman dies and man in critical condition

A 79-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle crash on the A16 near Peterborough[1]. The incident has left two others with injuries, including one person who is in a critical condition in hospital. A silver Ford Fiesta travelling eastbound crashed into a silver Kia Sorento travelling in the opposite direction at 6.10pm on Friday (November 24).

The passenger in the Sorento, a 79-year-old woman from South Yorkshire, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sorento driver, a 79-year-old woman from Lincolnshire, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. The driver of the Fiesta, a 33-year-old man from Sawtry, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital[2] in Cambridge, where he remains in a critical condition.
