A19 crash LIVE: Three miles of queues and ‘severe delays of 21 minutes’ following southbound crash

There were huge tailbacks on the A19 following an accident this morning. One lane was closed on the southbound carriageway of the major Teesside route on Thursday. Traffic was affected near Crathorne from the A67 at the Crathorne junction to Cleveland Tontine in Northallerton.

Queues began to form during the morning rush hour at around 7.45am. It came as Teesside woke to a blanket of snow and ice. The region has a yellow weather warning in place as temperatures are estimated to be around 1 degrees.
