A68 Southbound near Riding Mill closed after crash

Police received a report via the ambulance service of a two-vehicle crash on the A68 Southbound near Riding Mill, near Hexham, today (November 28). They said no one is believed to have suffered any serious injuries in the incident. A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Just before 8am this morning (Tuesday), we received a report via the ambulance service of a two-vehicle collision on the A68 Southbound near Riding Mill.

Limited time only[1] "Thankfully, no-one is believed to suffered any serious injuries. "The road is currently closed in both directions and traffic is being diverted on the A69 before joining the A68 further down the carriageway.

Road users are advised slight delays are expected." A North East Aambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson said they took one patient to hospital following the incident at 7.40am. They said: "We received a call at 7.40am this morning (Tuesday, November 28) to reports of a road traffic incident on the A68 near Healy in Northumberland.

"We dispatched an ambulance crew to the scene, who then transported one patient to Hexham General Hospital's urgent treatment centre for further treatment."
