Alexandria Police Department investigating suspicious death

ALEXANDRIA, Minn.[1] -- The Alexandria Police Department[2] is investigating a suspicious death. The police department and North Memorial Ambulance were called to the 1600 block of Sixth Avenue East at 10:31 p.m. Friday, Nov.

24. Responders found an unresponsive adult inside the residence. Lifesaving measures were performed.

However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension[3] was called to the scene to process it and collect evidence. At this time, the investigation is bring treated as a homicide, according to a press release from the Alexandria Police Department.

Chief Scott Kent said in the release that the police department does not believe there is any risk to the public. It does not appear to be a random act and investigators are continuing with the active investigation. The victim is not being identified at this time pending family notifications and review by the medical examiner's office.
