Another speed camera has been cut down in Cornwall, this time at Longdowns. It follows a number of similar incidents, the most recent happening on the A394 at Trewennack near Helston last week. Last month, the average speed cameras at Perranarworthal on the A39 were damaged.

At the time Adrian Leisk, Head of Road Safety for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Saddened for the local community who championed their installation and campaigned for years to do so. "These cameras have improved road safety.

Investigations are underway to identify the mindless vandals who did this. They have achieved nothing." Devon and Cornwall Police have been contacted for a statement.
