Appeal target smashed as family and friends prepare for funeral of biker Dannie
More than GBP6,000 has been raised in memory of a dad-of-two who lost his life in a motorbike crash. Dannie Hambleton, aged 35, of Cross Heath, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on London Road, in Chesterton[1]. The online fund-raising appeal has so far smashed its GBP5,000 target.
The money will go towards supporting Dannie's partner and the two children. Appeal organiser Kyle Chesters said: "Our Dannie - Dan the Man - was loved more than he ever knew. He leaves behind his loving mother, brother, sister, life partner, and his wonderful boys.
"Dannie had such a presence with his boisterous character and belly laugh. He would do anything for anybody, he adored his children, and looked forward to new beginnings - but sadly this never came true for him. We need to raise funds to support his family through this tragic time and to help give Dan the Man the send-off he deserves."
Dannie HambletonIt comes as Dannie's funeral service and cremation takes place at Bradwell Crematorium at 10am on Friday, November 24.
His bereavement notice states: "Dannie will be deeply and sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends." Staffordshire Police[2] have appealed for witnesses after Dannie died following a collision between his motorbike and a car. The collision happened at the junction of London Road and Albert Street on Friday, October 27.
Any witnesses should call the police 101 and quote incident number 286 of October 27.
