BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Angela Scanlon’s apology after police report as show exit ‘sealed’

Angela Scanlon will once again take to the dancefloor tonight for Strictly Come Dancing. The 39-year-old is renowned for her role as a presenter[1] and has fronted shows such as Your Home Made Perfect. Angela has been partnered with Carlos Gu in this season’s bid to win the Glitterball.

She has been a revelation on the dancefloor and received her best score yet when she performed an Argentine Tango last weekend. However, fans are convinced that Angela will find herself in the bottom two this week and could be exiting the show.

She is the current bookies favourite to exit the show as Strictly Come Dancing[4] contest with William Hill offering odds as short as 6/4 this week.

Away from the dancefloor, Angela regularly shares updates from her happy family life on Instagram. However, she found herself in hot water before the latest season of the BBC[5] contest when she uploaded a video on social media showing her dancing out of the window of a moving car. According to our sister site, Mirror Online[6], she posted the clip to her Instagram in view of her 317,000 followers before swiftly deleting it.

Angela was seen dancing to the hit track Rapper’s Delight by The Sugarhill Gang. A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police confirmed Angela had been reported for her actions. They told Mirror Online: “Hertfordshire Police have received a report from a member of the public about a woman not wearing a seat belt in a moving vehicle in Borehamwood.”

Angela deleted the video and issued an apology for her actions. She said: “I made absolutely the wrong decision when I filmed this video. I was coming from rehearsals and was giddy with excitement.

That’s not an excuse, because what I did was stupid and I’m sorry I let my excitement get the better of my judgement.”
