Chatham-Kent Police Report: Arrests, Winter Driving Tips, and Incidents

The Chatham-Kent Police have been active in responding to various incidents over the past three days, including arrests and providing essential safety tips for winter driving. MAN ARRESTED FOR BREAK AND ENTER On Garnet Street in Wallaceburg, a break in progress at Northern Elements prompted a swift response from the Chatham-Kent Police at 10:26 pm.

Witnesses on the scene described the suspect, enabling officers to apprehend a 32-year-old Wallaceburg man fleeing the area. The individual was charged with break-and-enter, transported to police headquarters, and is held pending a bail hearing. WINTER DRIVING SAFETY TIPS

As the winter season begins, the Chatham-Kent Police emphasize safety on the roads with valuable tips: DRIVER ARRESTED During a R.I.D.E program in Chatham, a male driver was found under the influence of alcohol.

After further tests, it was determined that the man had 1.5 times the legal limit of alcohol in his system. He faces charges of Operation while impaired/80 plus and was released with a court date set for December 11, 2023. BREAK AND ENTER INCIDENT

A new building under construction on Grand Ave East experienced an attempted break-in. An alarm activation alerted a vigilant citizen who observed several individuals leaving the area. Responding officers confirmed no theft occurred, but damages were sustained to a window.

MISSING PERSON LOCATED After a man was reported missing in the Bear Line Chatham area, a search was conducted due to weather conditions and concern for his well-being. Fortunately, the individual was located later in the day and found to be in good health.

The Chatham-Kent Police express gratitude for the public’s assistance in this matter. BREAK AND ENTER INVESTIGATION Police are actively investigating a break-and-enter on Talbot Trail in Wheatley between 1:30 pm and 9:10 pm.

Stolen items include an e-bike and chainsaws.
