City of Cleveland to demolish Eagle Avenue Lift Bridge

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland City Council members voted Monday evening to demolish the Eagle Avenue Lift Bridge.

The bridge, which is over the Cuyahoga River, was inspected in 2022 and city officials said engineers recommended the bridge be demolished due to "failure of its vertical elements."

According to city council members, the entire cost of the demolition and removal is nearly £3.3 million and the city will pay £752,061.
