Cotswolds hit-and-run driver sought after killing dog on afternoon walk
A dog in Cirencester[1] has been killed by a driver who hit the animal with their vehicle and drove away. The dog was being walked on a lead at the time of the crash. Police[2] are asking the public to help them with their investigation into the dog’s death.
They are seeking witnesses to the hit and run incident which happened on Wednesday, November 8. The dog was struck at around 5.10pm in the north of Cirencester while being walked on a lead. It was hit on the A417 Grove Lane, near the gatehouse leading to the Abbey Grounds.
The A417 Grove Lane through Cirencester is a major road, with pedestrian paths on the side adjacent to Cirencester Abbey. The route is frequently heavy with traffic around this time. There were other vehicles and traffic in the area at the time, who could have seen what happened or have dashcam footage that could help police with their enquiries.
