Crash between bike and car closes Pickersleigh Road

The crash, between a motorbike and a car, closed a section of Pickersleigh Road, between Harbinger Avenue and Ashdown Close, earlier today (Thursday, November 23). West Mercia Police, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service were all in attendance at the crash. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of an RTC on Pickersleigh Road in Malvern at around 12.55pm.

“An ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered a car and a motorbike had been involved in a collision. “The motorcyclist, a man, was treated by ambulance staff for serious injuries and conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.” During the closure, West Mercia Police were advising drivers to plan alternative routes and to allow for travel time.

A spokesperson said: “A crew from Malvern Station was called at 12.58pm on Thursday, November 23, to an RTC in Pickersleigh Road, Malvern. “The incident involved a motorcycle and a car, which was on all four wheels. The crew made both vehicles safe and contained a fuel spill.

“A male casualty in his 60s was handed over to the care of the ambulance service. Police were also in attendance. “The incident was marked as pending closure at 1.56pm.”

West Mercia Police confirmed that the road reopened at approximately 3pm this afternoon.
