Tributes have been paid to a cyclist who died after a crash involving a car in Bridgend[1]. Peter Pendlebury, 76, was critically injured in the crash[2] in Simonston Road on Wednesday, November 15 , and died in hospital. Mr Pendlebury was originally from Blackpool but settled in the Bridgend area for the last 40 years. In a tribute released by his family through South Wales Police[3] they said: “He was a loving husband of 53 years, a proud father to three children, and a doting grandad to four wonderful grandchildren. “Peter was an avid amateur photographer, loved his motorbike, and was a keen cyclist.

He was a member of the Phoenix cycle club with which he raised money for various charities over the last 30 years. Peter was a well-respected member of the community and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

“Finally we would like to thank the nurses at the University Hospital of Wales[6] for their kindness and offer our thanks to all the emergency services and any members of the public that attended the scene.”
