Delivery driver jobs in the North East including DPD, Evri and Uber …

As people take advantage of Cyber Monday deals, two major parcel delivery companies are looking to recruit delivery drivers to help them during the festive period. Evri and DPD are among a number of companies currently looking to recruit staff, while food delivery services including Uber Eats, Domino’s Pizza and Papa Johns are looking for staff to distribute hot food to hungry households across the North East. Pay for these jobs average at around GBP11 per hour.

However, one vacancy in this list is offering a salary of over GBP30,000 for the right person for the job. Here are a number of delivery driver jobs currently available in the North East. Evri delivery driver

Evri parcel delivery company is looking for drivers in the North East. The job advertisement states that drivers will deliver parcels between five and seven days a week for five to six hours each shift. Drivers will cover the same area, which will enable them to know their patch and deliver parcels quicker.

There is also opportunity to pick up extra shifts. Earnings range from GBP500 to GBP1000 after the training period concludes, and successful applicants who apply today will receive a GBP500 welcome payment from Evri. The welcome payment is based on working a minimum of five days per week – one of which must be a weekend day – and completing a minimum of 60 delivery days from start date.

More information and how to apply can be found here[1]. DPD delivery and collection van driver DPD is looking for temporary delivery and collection van drivers in Newcastle to work 40 hours a week until January 2024 for GBP11 an hour.

Applicants do not require any previous experience, however they do require a full UK driving licence which should be held for 12 months or more. DPD will give successful applicants a delivery schedule for the day, during which they will be required to drive DPD’s 3.5 tonne van and making multi-drop collections and deliveries around the area. Uber Eats courier Uber is looking for couriers in Newcastle. The role offers successful applicants to work when they want and “be your own boss”.

You must meet certain requirements to deliver with Uber depending on where you choose to deliver. The company welcomes couriers from the delivery industry, including bicycle and motorbike couriers. More information and how to apply can be found here[3].

Fenwick HGV driver Fenwick is looking for a HGV driver to fill a night shift vacancy at the store’s Killingworth depot to support store fulfilment operation. The successful applicant will trunk HGV vehicles from Killingworth to Leicester, meet the Northbound driver and swap vehicles.

Applicants should have a clean HGV Cat C+E driving license and 12 months driving experience. Shifts will run four nights a week, from 9pm until 7.45am, with nine hours driving in each shift. The vacancy advertises a salary of GBP30,596 per year for this position.

More information and how to apply can be found here[4]. Papa Johns pizza delivery driver Papa Johns in West Denton is currently looking for a pizza delivery driver to work 12-16 hours a week over three nights for an hourly rate of up to GBP11.

Duties include delivering pizzas to customers as well as helping out in store when required. Applicants must own their own car and hold a full clean licence for at least 12 months. More information and how to apply can be found here[5].

Domino’s Pizza delivery driver Domino’s Pizza in Cowgate is currently looking for a delivery driver to work a variety of shifts on weekdays, weekends and evenings for an hourly rate of GBP10.50, with the potential to earn GBP12 an hour and additional income from tips. Applicants must own their own car with a valid MOT, a have a full, valid UK driving licence with no more than six points, no driving bans over the last five years and their own car insurance.

They must also own a smartphone device to be used for GPS delivery assistance and customer delivery information. Successful applicants will be required to download an app to use this service. More information and how to apply can be found here[6].
