Disorder outside Hanley Primark at 6am ends in man’s arrest

A man has been arrested after disorder broke out near Primark in the city centre - at 6am. Police were called to Hanley[1] after a man approached members of the public outside the Potteries Centre in the early hours of this morning (November 26). Officers then received reports of unruly behaviour as a search for the suspect got underway.

A 32-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has since been arrested in connection with the incident. He is being questioned about what happened in custody. Now an appeal for witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage has been launched.

A Staffordshire Police[2] spokesman said: "We are appealing for information after a man was arrested following reports of disorder in Stoke-on-Trent this morning. Just before 6am, we received reports of a man approaching members of the public outside Primark in the Potteries Centre, Hanley. We then started getting reports of disorder in the same area.

"Officers went to the scene and searched for the suspect. We are keen to speak to people who were in the area at the time to find out more about what happened, particularly those with CCTV and dashcam footage."
