Driver hospitalised after A590 crash between car and tractor
The police confirmed that the collision was between a VW Golf and a tractor. Emergency services remain at the scene currently. There is no detail as to how long the road will remain blocked – the emergency services asked people to avoid the area this morning if possible.
A spokesperson from North West Ambulance Service said: “We’ve responded to a collision involving a car and a tractor following a call at 09.44am. “An ambulance, consultant paramedic, air ambulance and operational commander have attended. “The driver of the car was extracted from his car with the help of the fire brigade and conveyed to hospital.
The driver of the tractor was assessed and discharged on scene.” Cumbria Police said that this was via the air ambulance. Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact police.
