Drug driving arrest after six vehicle pile up on M6 causes huge delays
A man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a six vehicle crash caused huge delays on the M6 on Sunday afternoon (November 26). Emergency services, including paramedics and motorway police, attended the incident on the M6 southbound, between J19 for Knutsford and J18 for Middlewich and Holmes Chapel. Lanes were closed for a number of hours with congestion backing up for seven miles and long delays following the collision, believed to have involved a total of six vehicles.

Those involved sustained minor injuries in the major crash. A spokesperson for the force said: "At around 3.35pm on Sunday 26 November, police were made aware of reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the M6 southbound, between junction 19 and 18. "The collision is believed to have involved six vehicles and minor injuries were reported.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
He has since been released under investigation."
